ANIMATION

Blog entry

We were given a new assignment to do called ‘animation’ as a group we had to come up with an animation from the wining short story from 2011 ‘the bovine histories’ which is about some kows (cows) who live on a farm and there are some secrets that get passed down each generation.

The class got a visit from Joe Melia, organiser of the Bristol short story prize who told us; short stories work well in as animation also he said it’s a chance for 400+ people to see these films at the arnolfini gallery which is something we can put on a college application.

Our ideas were that we wanted to focus on the short song the kows sing at the start of the story, we thought to break off from the story because we all like music and the ideas that we came up with for it were looking good. The outcome of all our inputting ideas was that the kows would start by eating the grass and singing this heaven song to breakdancing and rapping.

Some of the problems that could come out of this are that when we come to producing our animation it could possibly take longer than expected because we are doing stop-motion which includes making a set, characters and moving them frame by frame which takes a long time.

On the whole I think we have a good idea that could get a lot of recognition if we really try to create a good piece of animation.
